Mini Series – Designing For 2021
And Beyond Ft. Interiors
This year we dove into our individual disciplines within Paragon. For this first quarter I spoke with Whitney Burns, one of our interior designers, and asked a few questions on store design.
Q: How has the last year changed how you begin to design a store?
A: Social distancing fixtures, reducing “buffet” style food offerings if possible, spacing out seating, offering more hands-free options than before.
Q: What is your favorite part of designing?
A: Designing a space that makes our customers happy and putting together a store that is over and above what they expected.
Q: Is there a specific look/quality that Paragon aims for?
A: Some of our goals for Paragon is to design something beautiful that is also easy to maintain and keep clean. Form and Function is key.
As Whitney said, we aim to create a space that has form and function; we want to continue this in our designs while also complying to the new and ongoing changes to the standards in safety post Covid-19. From designing a new store with a drive thru and pickup options to updating an existing store with extra space for social distance queuing; we strive to create an interesting and welcoming environment that will continue to bring customers back to your store.
In addition to creating the physical space and layout to have a safe environment for employees and customers. Paragon has partnered with WTWH Media to create a third-party certification for stores to help effectively communicate the efforts taken by the store to keep the environment clean and safe.
