Get on board with food service

It’s a new year, which means a fresh start, a new outlook on opportunities and ways to differentiate yourself from the competition. One way to do that is to buy into the top industry trend, Food Service. We are seeing a lot of customers that want to up their game on their food service, but few are willing to go all the way with it. The primary reason is because food service is not something you dip your toe into. It takes time, preparation, and research. I like to urge my clients to change their mindset. Instead of being a generic fuel stop that happens to have food options, why not be a restaurant that happens to sell fuel? Let’s lead with fresh food that people can watch as it’s prepared, try out different options to ultimately lead to an awesome grab ’n go concept. Or, if the customer has time, they can sit and have a made-to-order pizza, hot sandwich, or burger perhaps.

In order to make this shift, though, you have to get the right people. If you’re going to go all-in with food, why not hire a chef? It would make sense, right? What an incredible brand statement this would make. Instead of your customers coming onto your site for a quick fill up at the pumps, you’re now capturing loyalty with your outstanding food service. Maybe moms and dads can pick up a pre-packaged dinner for their family on their way home from work. I know I would be a regular.

These are the types of conversations we have with our clients on a routine basis. We want to push our clients to a level that is uncomfortable yet attainable. Let’s first discuss what you’re trying to accomplish, then let’s design a store that allows your vision to come to life. If you need resources or have questions, let us know. We can help.
